Our four children see the dentist twice a year, and they almost always pass through his inspection with a perfect score. I think genetics plays a role in that, because they are kids, and do not alway remember to brush their teeth twice a day, much less floss. It's a struggle for me to keep up with their oral care.
"Did you brush your teeth?" I ask.
"Oh, yeah, I forgot."
Same two sentences. Every night.
Tell me I'm not alone, would ya?
Did you know that brushing your teeth alone misses 75% of your mouth? I was surprised to learn this recently! The toothbrush simply cannot reach all of the little crevices and hideaways between my teeth, and although I do floss, I hadn't really thought how ineffective brushing teeth is.
When we only brush and floss our teeth, we are missing areas on our gums, tongue, cheeks and other surfaces - and leaving lots of plaque and gingivitis germs behind. But when we use a mouthwash like Listerine Antiseptic along with brushing, the liquid can reach every corner and crevice - cleaning virtually 100% of the mouth.
Listerine is challenging our family - and yours - to a 21-day Challenge.
For 21 days, we can take control of our oral health through just one minute of effort each day, by swishing with Listerine Antiseptic mouthwash twice a day.
Listerine is so sure we will see results, if you don't feel a difference, you will receive a full refund for your purchase (by June 30, 2013).
Listerine sent our family a box full of Listerine mouthwash, Reach toothbrushes and Access Flossers, and Listerine Breath Strips. Our kids were ridiculously excited:
Our 17yo son grabbed the UltraClean mouthwash. He has been a fan of this mouthwash for the past six months, and he likes to think it replaces teeth brushing. At his age, no amount of mom-nagging will make a difference; the visit with the dentist later this month will determine that!
Our 15yo daughter grabbed a new Reach toothbrush and reluctantly claimed a Listerine Cool Mint mouthwash. She's not sure she'll "like it," but says she'll try the challenge, too.
Our 13yo son claimed a toothbrush and also reluctantly says he'll try using mouthwash for 21 days.
And our 9yo daughter was so excited to try the kids' product, Listerine Smart Rinse (Bubble Blast flavor), that I had to help her "now! right now!" The way this product dispenses is ingenious and so helpful when you have an overzealous one trying to do it by herself.
When we help ourselves, we help others. This is true for all of life, and for this challenge as well, because Listerine will make a contribution to help Oral Health America's Smiles Across America program with each challenge accepted.
My family is taking this challenge! Want to join us? Visit the Listerine Facebook page to get a coupon for Listerine products and to join the challenge.
I will write another post with our results!
