Personal Experience:  Earlier this year, we received the All About Reading pre-1 kit.  The quality is outstanding.  We have a "slow" (who says?) eight-year-old reader.  We worked through the pre-1 level quickly, as it's written more for preschoolers, and now I'm going to work through the Level 1 curriculum with her.  This program is so much like All About Spelling that it is very easy for me to use.  The workbook is easy to follow, telling me exactly which letter tile to place in front of my daughter and exactly which sound to make.  It  couldn't be easier for me, the teacher, and our daughter doesn't complain about lessons (she especially loves to move the magnetic letter tiles)!
