Learning Multiplication Can Actually Be Fun?!
Drop the flash cards. Lose the frustration. Timez Attack (free!) will have your students learning their multiplication tables in record time, and they will not once whine about it! Impossible, right? I thought so, until I witnessed how quickly our 9yo learned his tables while playing the game even outside of "math time."
The creators of Timez Attack have a background in PlayStation (your kids will know what that is!). You can view a video of the game at the Timez Attack site (the video that explains it the best, to me, is the "Video Tour" at the top menu bar).
Here's what Timez Attack says about the free version:
Yes--it's research-based
Yes--base version is TOTALLY FREE
Yes--even the base version teaches all the facts, 2 - 12
Proven to teach TOTAL mastery to average pre-3rd graders in just 10 hours
The difference, from what I understand, between the free and paid versions, is that your child will only be able to go through one "level" in the free version, meaning, he'll do all his learning - all 2-12 multiplication facts - in the "dungeon" level (it's not scary). If you purchased the other levels, your student could learn the same material while roaming in other interesting areas like "machines," or "rock tower."
